Audi has launched the RS7 Sportback facelift in India for Rs 1.40 Crore (Ex-showroom Mumbai). The 2016 MY car gets cosmetic updates and Audi’s new Matrix LED headlight technology as standard equipment.
The external cosmetic changes are limited to the front bumper which has got a few subtle tweaks. In addition Audi is now also offering matte aluminium, glossy black plastics and carbon fibre trim packages for the exterior.
In the cabin, the instrument cluster and MMI system have been revised while the front seats now get the RS Super Sports trim. Some of the standard equipment includes a Bose surround sound system, flat bottom leather wrapped steering wheel and four zone climate control.
There are no changes on the mechanical front for RS7 and it will continue to make use of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 560bhp and 700Nm of torque. Power gets sent to all four-wheels via an eight-speed AT and the German automaker’s famed Quattro AWD system.
In terms of numbers, the RS7 clears the 0kmph to 100kmph hurdle in 3.9 seconds and then goes on to hit an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. It gets all the bells and whistles and is underpinned by a five-link front suspension and an air suspension for the rear.
Audi has planned 15 launches for the Indian market for 2015 and the RS7 Sportback is the second vehicle to be launched so far. It has planned four major launches over the next four months as a part of this strategy.
