German car manufacturer Audi has launched the second-generation RS5 Coupe in India for a price of Rs 1.10 crores (all-India, ex-showroom). The newly launched RS5 takes it one step ahead in terms of performance over the Audi S5 which was launched last year. Based on a new platform, the vehicle is now bigger than its predecessor. Moreover, with the optional carbon-fibre roof, the RS5 Coupe weighs about 60kgs lighter than its predecessor.
Under the hood, the new RS5 now gets a smaller twin turbo V6 engine. The new 2.9-litre TFSI engine generates an impressive 444bhp of power and 600Nm of torque. Interestingly, the torque has gone up by a massive 170Nm and it gets Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard. The Audi RS5 Coupe is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed is electronically restricted to 250kmph, however with the ‘RS Dynamic Package’ it can go up to 280kmph.
Externally, it sports an aggressive design language and features new bumpers, a prominent single frame grille, Quattro blisters, Matrix LED headlamps and large air intakes. The car gets 19-inch wheels as standard, while 20-inch wheels are offered optional. As for the interior, the RS5 gets sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and Alcantara trimmings. The virtual cockpit system and the stainless steel pedals are borrowed from the A5 and the S5.
The newly launched Audi RS 5 Coupe competes against the likes of the BMW M4 and the Mercedes-Benz C63 in India.
