Audi India might launch the RS 6 Avant for the Indian market on the sixth of next month. This is the first time a performance estate wagon will go on sale in our country.
The Audi RS 6 Avant is a sports wagon based on the A6. The Avant features a RS adaptive air suspension, ride height that is lowered by 20 mm and Dynamic Ride Control. The car rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and the carmaker provides 21-inch alloy wheels as an optional fitment. The cabin sports ‘RS’ badging and the interior comes in black leather with silver and red highlights.
The RS 6 Avant is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 TFSI bi-turbo engine that produces 560bhp of power and 700Nm of torque. This is the same powerplant seen under the hood of the RS7 Sportback. This mill comes mated to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and power is sent to all the wheels via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system.
The performance-oriented estate car can do the 0kmph to 100kmph sprint in just 3.9 seconds and an electronically limited top-speed of 250kmph.
Audi has gone on a launch spree this year and launched cars back to back for the Indian market. The RS 6 Avant will open up a new segment in the Indian market as there are no performance-oriented estate cars in India yet.
