- The Q8 is Audi’s flagship SUV
- Will be available only with a petrol engine option
German luxury automobile manufacturer Audi has revealed that the brand will launch the Q8 flagship SUV in India on 15 January. The model will be offered in the country exclusively with a petrol engine option at launch while a diesel mill could arrive sometime later.
Based on the MLB Evo platform, the Audi Q8 is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine that is capable of producing 340bhp and 500Nm of torque. This engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission with the Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Design highlights of the Audi Q8 include an octagonal shaped grille flanked by LED headlamps on either side, 22-inch alloy wheels, LED tail light, LED light bar running the length of the boot-lid, frame-less doors, rear bumper integrated exhaust tips and silver coloured skid plates.
Inside, the new Audi Q8 comes equipped with an array of features such as a flat-bottom steering wheel, all digital virtual cockpit, dual touchscreens on the centre console, the primary unit for the infotainment system and the secondary unit for climate control and other convenience features. Upon arrival, the Audi Q8 will rival the BMW X6, Porsche Cayenne Coupe Range Rover Sport and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
