The 2018 Beijing Auto Show saw Audi reveal its first ever long wheelbase SUV in the form of the Q5L. For now, the car will be built and sold exclusively in China where it caters to the market's endless appetite for chauffeur-driven vehicles. It joins an A4L, A6L and A8L in Audi's long-wheelbase portfolio.
The Q5L is 3.5 inches longer than the standard Q5 and that leads to the rear passengers getting an extra 4.3 inches of legroom. Storage space however remains the same. The only powertrain offered is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 with outputs of 190 or 252bhp. The latter sees the Q5L hit 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive are standard.
The car will go on sale in a few in China. India also saw the latest Q5 being launched recently and thanks to a big number of chauffer driven cars in India, the Q5L should make a viable option for our country as well.
