Although Audi is currently working on a new generation of the Q5, the said model will make its way into the market only by 2017. Until then, the brand will continue to refresh and sell the current gen Q5. The popular crossover, in fact, has just had its variant line-up refreshed for the Indian market.
Audi India is now selling the Q5 in three different variants namely Q5 30 TDI Quattro Premium, Q5 30 TDI Quattro Design Edition and Q5 30 TDI Quattro Sport Edition. These replace the old Premium, Premium Plus and Technology variants respectively.
While the entry-level Premium variant features 17-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps, climate control, 8 airbags, park assist and lots more as standard, the more expensive Design Edition expectedly is better equipped with bigger 18-inch alloys, suspension with damping control, Audi’s Drive Select and panoramic glass roof. Lastly, the Sport Edition adds navigation facility, a rear-view camera and a DVD player to the feature list. The latter also gets S Line Exterior package for better road presence.
The refreshed Q5 line-up is now on sale with ex-showroom prices ranging between Rs 51.80 and Rs 59.40 lakh. The crossover competes with the BMW X3 and the Land Rover Discovery Sport as its main rivals.
