Nearly three years after entering production worldwide, the Audi Q3 has received a host of upgrades in terms of design, performance and efficiency. The compact premium crossover, which starts at £25,340 (Rs 24.67 lakh) in the UK, now comes with more features as standard.
Starting with the looks, the Q3 facelift gets subtle design tweaks in typical Audi fashion. The new single frame grille, revised bumpers and redesigned alloy wheels do their bit in the improving the stance of the vehicle. The revised headlights now feature xenon bulbs and LED daytime running lights as standard in select versions, and these are complemented at the rear by reworked LED tail lights.
Under the skin, the Q3 facelift is available with two TDI diesel and three TFSI engines, as before. Audi, though, has made a few revisions to boost power outputs and improve the fuel economy at the same time.
Globally, the Q3 facelift will hit the roads starting February 2015. We expect the vehicle to arrive in India later during the year. Audi India has done really well with the Q3 which comes off as a well-built, luxurious compact crossover, however, steep competition from the new Mercedes-Benz GLA means Audi could be looking at bringing the Q3 facelift to India sooner than what we can anticipate.
