Days after Audi India launched the R8 here, its parent company has announced the R8 V10 5.2 FSI, which is exactly what its name suggests.
The R8 V10 swaps the 420bhp V8 for a 5.2-litre V10 engine that generates 525bhp at 8000rpm and 530Nm at 6500rpm. It adds a mere 30kg to the car's overall weight, and shaves 0.6sec off the 0-100kph time, crossing the ton in 3.6 seconds. This neatly fills the void left by Lamborghini's Gallardo when they launched the Gallardo LP560-4, and gives the Ferrari F430 something to think about. What we would like to know is, when can Indian customers order their R8 V10? International deliveries begin next spring.
