Audi India has introduced the A8 L Security in India for Rs 9.15 crore (ex-showroom Delhi and Mumbai). The high security car with the VR 9 level of ballistic protection is available on order with two engine options.
The A8 L Security is an armoured car, which offers maximum safety possible in the passenger cars along with the comfort and features of the A8 L. for safety of the occupants, the version of the A8 L gets fire extinguishers, run-flat tyres, protective fuel tank cell, communication box with loud speaker to communicate with the outside world, emergency exit system with pyrotechnic fracture bolts, emergency fresh-air system and more.
The Audi A8 L Security can be ordered with the 4.0-litre TFSI biturbo V8 petrol engine making 435bhp and 600Nm or the naturally aspirated W12 making 500bhp and 625Nm of torque. The car has Audi’s renowned permanent Quattro AWD system and electronically limited top-speed of 210kmph.
Needless to say that there are more customisation options, which can be opted for at the time of order. Mercedes-Benz S-Class Guard is the other car in the segment, which offers similar level of safety and comes with an equally high price tag.
