Audi India has sold 1,002 units in October 2013 as compared to 850 units in the corresponding period last year resulting in a growth of 17.8 per cent. Its total sales from January – October 2013 stood at 8,393 units as compared to 7,267 units in October 2012 resulting in a growth of 15.4 per cent.
Audi India inaugurated new showrooms in Karnal and Vadodara in October and will open two more showrooms in November. Globally, Audi continued its double-digit growth rate in September with 150,300 deliveries, a year-on-year increase of 10 per cent. The Audi Group delivered 1,180,748 cars in the first three quarters of 2013 as compared to 1,097,507 cars in 2012 an increase of 7.6 per cent.
Commenting on the growth, Joe King, head of Audi India, said “With this remarkable performance in the month of October, we have moved within striking distance of our goal, of becoming the first luxury car manufacturer in India to cross sales of 10,000 units in a calendar year. While the market conditions continued to be challenging, we persisted with our focus on enhancing our product offering, growing a high quality network and introducing some very innovative service and finance offerings, most of which have become benchmarks in the industry.”
