Shortly after introducing the upgraded diesel-powered A6 with Matrix headlight technology, Audi India has now launched its petrol equivalent model. Labelled A6 35 TFSI, this new offering is priced at Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The A6 35 TFSI model, however, doesn’t feature Audi’s Matrix headlights and the S-Line body kit.
The new petrol-powered A6 features a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine which is 200cc smaller than the outgoing engine however, it’s more powerful and efficient. Audi is claiming a 12.7 per cent increase in efficiency and a 5 per cent hike in power.
Inside, the cabin is finished in brown and features a multifunction steering wheel, four-zone climate control, premium leather upholstery, auto-dimming interior mirror, ambient lighting and electrically adjustable front seats with memory function as standard.
Coming back to the engine, the 1.8-litre turbocharged unit produces 190bhp of power and gets a claimed efficiency of 15.26 kmpl. It is mated to a 7-speed S-tronic transmission.
The upgraded A6 35 TFSI competes with other petrol-powered premium sedans like the Mercedes E200 and the Jaguar XF 2.0.
