Audi has announced an increase in price of its entire range available in India. The increase would range up to 4 per cent across models and will be effective from July 15 onwards. Among the models, the most significant hikes are of the Q5 whose price has been increased by Rs 1.52 lakh, the Audi A6 by Rs 1.80 lakh and the Audi R8 by Rs 4.42 lakh.
Commenting on the hike, Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, said “The overall market scenario is challenging. The depreciating rupee and rise in input cost have made us re-evaluate our pricing strategy in India and increase the prices of the entire range. However, we are offering the customers customised and innovative finance options from Audi Finance which will make their purchase more attractive.”
Audi registered a total sale of 750 units sold in June 2013, a growth of 4 per cent over the same period last year (June 2012: 718 units). For the period January to June 2013, the German automaker grew by 21 per cent, delivering 4846 units as compared to 4000 units during January to June 2012.
