Audi India is among the more sensible automakers out there that seem to know the needs of the Indian market quite well. The German brand has been doing great with its huge product range covering luxury sedans and SUVs to high-performance sports cars.
With the new A3, the company is eyeing the entry-level luxury segment which has seen a lot of momentuml in the last two years. Audi India, in fact, is looking to strengthen its lead in the luxury market with the upcoming A3; which is why it has started local production of the model, ahead of the official launch.
With production underway at its sister brand Skoda’s Aurangabad facility, the A3 will be Audi India’s first vehicle to be locally made before being launched in the Indian market. The brand’s past products namely A4, A6, Q5, Q7 and the lot were launched as fully imported models. These models are now locally assembled in India.
To be made available in petrol and diesel models, the new A3 sedan will go on sale sometime next month. Audi India is confident that this model will be a game-changer for the brand in the entry-level luxury segment which currently sees the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes A-Class and the B-Class in contention.
