- Audi will showcase the best of both worlds at the upcoming Los Angeles Motor Show
- One is a pure electric SUV, while the other is a ‘Ring conquering performance SUV
We have spotted both the e-tron Sportback and the RS Q8 on many occasions already. Now, Audi has confirmed the global debut of both these SUVs at the upcoming 2019 Los Angeles Motor Show on 20 November. Both these SUVs from Ingolstadt are different in terms of demeanour.
The German automaker has also teased the e-tron Sportback with the newly invented Digital Matrix technology enabled headlights. This new headlamp technology can light the way in front of the car with unprecedented precision through the use of around one million micromirrors, claims Audi. Other details revealed of the e-tron Sportback is that it shares the powertrain with the standard e-tron and will be built at the same production location in Brussels.
Meanwhile, the RS Q8 has already made a mark ahead of its arrival by bagging the ‘King of the Ring’ title in the performance SUV segment. Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, the RS Q8 has lapped the ‘Ring in 7 minutes and 42.2 seconds. It also gets a 48Volt mild-hybrid system which comes with a 12kW of power for its lithium-ion battery pack. The RS Q8 will be the last of the six RS models Audi promised for 2019 following the RS Q3, RS Q3 Sportback, RS4 Avant, RS6 Avant, and RS7 Sportback.
Apart from this duo, we also expect all the new crop of Audis to be showcased at the LA stage. Both these SUVs will come to India as well once they go on sale in the international markets.
