It was just last month that an Audi e-tron Quattro electric crossover was spotted for the first time and yet again, our photographer has managed to capture a heavily camouflaged test mule undergoing hot weather testing in southern Germany.
This Audi will take on the likes of the Tesla Model X and will go on to be the car maker’s biggest shot at the EV segment when its goes on sale in 2018. Despite the vehicle being extensively masked, we noticed that the grille of the prototype had a black sphere which looked like a form of driver assistance system that could incorporate a sensor or a camera.
The Audi e-tron will use a 95 kWh battery that’s estimated to offer a range of about 500km and is believed to be equipped with three electric motors. While two motors will be positioned at the rear, one will be situated in the front and the collective power output will be in the region of 435bhp. Sources have revealed that this EV could do the 0-100kmph run in 4.6 seconds.
Audi has disclosed that the e-tron will roll out of its production facility at Brussels in Belgium. We shall bring you more information on the e-tron in the time to come.
