German automaker Audi has silently discontinued the A3 Attraction variant in India. However, the higher variants like Premium, Premium Plus, Technology and Technology Plus will continue to be offered on sale.
The Audi A3 Attraction was priced at Rs 24.56 lakh while the TDI Premium is offered for Rs 29.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Given the price difference of about Rs 3 lakh, customers opting for the Premium variant additionally get automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic headlamps and leather and fabric combined upholstery.
The Premium variant gets additional features along with automatic two-zone air conditioning with sun sensor, rear AC vents, auto release function and a multi-functional leather steering wheel that was also available in the Attraction variant. The Premium variant also includes the Audi music interface that allows customers to select artist, genres and albums using MMI controls.
Under the hood, the Audi A3 CDI gets 1968cc, four-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed S-tronic ‘box that generates 141bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. Last year the company had updated its petrol variant as a celebration of its first successful anniversary in India.
The Audi A3 has been well accepted in the Indian market and with decent pricing along with loads of features, has been a vital contributor for its success. Though the car is priced substantially higher in return for additional features the vehicle still comes forth as the cheapest option.
