- Audi concluded three of the five-part video series for the impending Q8.
- Another design sketch reveals the front on the flagship SUV.
- The India-bound Q8 will be revealed next month.
Audi has dropped another design sketch of the upcoming Q8 SUV ahead of next month’s reveal. The carmaker has also released three of the five-part video series as a run-up for the reveal of the Q8.
Audi has been developing the all-new Q8 for quite some time now. We brought you exclusive images of the SUV being tested, even in India, on many occasions. The teaser image released earlier shows the rear design sketch of the Q8. Now the front design sketch confirms that the Q8 will carry forward the fascia from last year’s Q8 Concept. The characteristic Audi grille is seen in the sketch along with sharp LED headlamps, massive air intakes and aggressive bumper design.
The Q8 will be the largest coupe SUV that Audi produces and will rival the likes of the BMW X6 and the Mercedes GLE Coupe. As the name suggests, it will sit above the Q7 in Audi’s SUV line-up. It will follow standard Audi design elements on the inside as well as outside. The coupe-SUV silhouette will make the Q8 more appealing and stylish compared to the Q7. The Q8 will be a five-seater only with decent off-road hardware. But primarily, it would be a luxury SUV more than anything else.
It will make use of the MLB Evo platform which also underpins many other SUVs like the new-gen VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, even the Lambo Urus and Bentley Bentayga. It would allow the Q8 large powertrain options which would also include a hybrid variant. Apart from that, a more potent RS Q8 is also on the cards given that Audi had showcased the Audi Q8 Sport Concept at the Geneva Show last year.
The all-new Q8 will also be revealed in India promptly after it goes for sale internationally. The flagship SUV is expected to be officially revealed next month. It is most likely to break cover at the Audi China Brand Summit Shenzhen in Shanghai which will be held on 5 June 2018.
