Audi has confirmed that it will expand its Q range of vehicles within the next few years. The German luxury car maker has said that this expansion will include three more vehicles but has not specified names or size. Audi currently manufacturers and sells the Q3 crossover, Q5 and the full size Q7 SUV.
The SUVs will most likely be additions between the current range as well as a vehicle below the Q3 which will most likely be based on the Crosslane concept. While Audi has not specified anything about the second model, they have said the third SUV will be a BMW X6 rival.
Audi is very positive about the growing demand for SUVs across the European markets as well as in developing markets like China, Russia and also India.
They have predicted that by 2020, their Q range of vehicles will account for 33 to 40 per cent of their global sales as by that period the sales of SUV sales would have over 50 per cent from the current number. Ultimately though, some reports also suggest that Audi’s plan of action is also to overtake BMW by 2020 and become the global leader in luxury vehicles.
