Audi has officially announced that 2.1 million of the brand’s cars are involved in the recent Volkswagen emission scandal which is being billed among the biggest automotive scandals of all time. These diesel-powered vehicles have been fitted with the software that allowed German auto giant Volkswagen to cheat US emission tests.
Volkswagen recently said that they have about 5 million cars fitted with the manipulating software. Now, Audi has opened up to the world and announced that they have also installed the controversial software in up to 2.1 million cars.
As for the Indian market, there’s no word from Audi India yet, however, an investigation is currently underway into Volkswagen’s emission standards, following a request by the Ministry of Heavy Industry.
