The past year has been extremely kind to the German car manufacturer Audi. The company is celebrating the distinction of being the first ever luxury car manufacturer in India to sell more than 10,000 units in a year. Overall, the brand registered a sale of 10,002 units in the period January – December 2013, a growth of 11 per cent as compared to corresponding period in 2012 where they sold 9,003 units.
The last month of 2013 being extra special for the company with bookings of more than 1,340 units – the highest ever in a month in India.
Joe King, Head, Audi India commenting on their performance said, “2013 was a stellar year for Audi in India in terms of growth, expansion and performance. Our strong leadership is a result of our diverse product portfolio, network expansion, unique marketing activities and after-sales service at par with global standards. In 2013, we ventured into new grounds with our unique customer connect initiatives- Q drive, R drive and Multicity drives reaching out to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to bring the luxury of our cars closer to our discerning customers. The resonance and acceptance of our brand in India among customers and enthusiasts is tremendous and we look forward to continue our impressive performance in 2014.”
Audi continues to be the market leader in the luxury SUV segment in India with Audi Q3, Audi Q3 S Edition, Audi Q5 and Audi Q7. Audi is also the market leader in the sports car segment with Audi S4, Audi S6, Audi RS 5 Coupé, Audi TT Coupé, the super sports car Audi R8, Audi R8 Spyder and the Audi R8 V10. Come Auto Expo 2014 next month it has lined up few products to show off as well, most anticipated among them being the 2014 Audi A8L and the A3 sedan.
