Audi India launched the A8 L Security sedan at the 2016 Auto Expo at Rs 9.15 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The German luxury car manufacturer has dubbed it as 'the most secure Audi ever'. Well, the pictures are not going to do as much justice in comparison to the security the car is going to provide to the occupants; but have a look at the features on offer.
The A8 L boasts of standard security features like armoured communication box in luggage compartment, selective door unlocking, fire extinguishing system and emergency fresh air system etc.
The car satisfies the criteria of the class VR 9 ballistic protection standard, which is currently the highest and the most stringent requirements for civilian high-security sedans.
The vehicle's weight is relatively low thanks to the high aluminium content in the body. Audi claims the car has the best figure of a maximum payload of 600 kg.
The Audi A8 L Security’s safety cell integrates extremely resistant materials like aramide fabric, special aluminum alloys and a hot-formed steel armor.
The car has been tested for resistance to explosive charges in accordance with the ERV 2010 guidelines, making it virtually indestructible.
The Audi A8 L Security is made to order entirely under Audi’s supervision in a partnership between the carmaker’s Neckarsulm plant and a secret, secure factory.
According the customer’s request, Audi will also offer additional safety features like patented emergency exit system, fire extinguishing system, and emergency fresh air system.
The new Audi A8 L Security, which is available for order now is targeted at extremely high-net worth VIPs and heads of state.
