The latest generation Audi A5 range will be launched in the Indian market on October 5. This time around Audi is bringing in the coupe, Sportback and the cabriolet. It is, in essence, a lifestyle version of the A4 sedan and will appeal to those who want a little excitement from the Ingolstadt-built machines.
The Sportback will be a four door model while the coupe and cabriolet will both be two-door options in the A5 range. All three cars are based on Audi’s latest design language that we saw with the A4 when it was launched here in 2016. This includes the grille, LED head lamps, LED tail lamps, wheels and the unique boot lid.
The India-spec A5 is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre turbocharged mill in the 248bhp state of tune. All wheel drive and an automatic gearbox are expected to be standard across all three body styles.
The Sportback and the coupe are niche models while the cabriolet takes on the other convertible in that segment, namely the C300 from Mercedes-Benz.
