Audi has begun the sale of the A3 sedan in Malaysia for 179,900 RM (Rs 34.30 lakh). The entry-level sedan from the Ingolstadt-based automaker is available with two petrol engine options and a host of optional extras.
The Malaysia-spec Audi A3 sedan will be offered with the 1.4-litre petrol engine as well as the 1.8-litre engine petrol that produce 122bhp/200Nm and 180bhp/280Nm respectively. The former gets a seven-speed (dry) dual clutch unit while the larger engine has been mated to a six-speed (Wet) dual clutch unit.
Externally both the models look exactly the same, save for the badging, wheel design, Xenon headlamps and LED daytime lights. Malaysian buyers also get the option of an S Line package which includes a body kit, 18-inch wheels, panoramic roof, sports seats, black headliner, pearl effect paint job and a flat bottomed steering wheel.
The interiors in both cars, apart from the standard features in this segment, includes dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control, electronic parking brake, seven air bags, ESP and ISOFIX (child safety seat mounts). The 1.8-litre engined version also gets full leather sports seats, powered front seats, paddle shifts and aluminium inserts in the trim. The A3 1.8-TSI has been priced at 240,888 RM (Rs 45.92 lakh) which is 60,000 RM more than the base version.
