The Audi A3 sedan facelift has been spotted testing in Europe. Reports suggest that the updates are a mid-life facelift and will be spread across the entire range of vehicles. The changes are expected to be both mechanical as well as cosmetic.
Externally, the A3 facelift will get a new bumper as well as the latest hexagonal grille which made its debut in India with the new Q7 SUV. The front bumper has a more defined shape than the rear indicating that this is still an early prototype for the sedan. Further, our sources, suggest that this new car will get updated interiors in the form a digital speedometer as well as Apple Carplay connectivity.
On the mechanical front, this mid-life facelift is likely to get a new turbocharged 1.8-litre TFSI petrol engine which will produce 190bhp as compared to the current cars 180bhp but will have higher fuel efficiency thanks to cylinder deactivation technology.
Looking at the pictures and considering the timeline that the current car is running, we can expect this model to be a 2018 MY vehicle that will be launched in 2017, most probably at the Paris Motor Show. We in India will get this car as soon as it is launched considering the importance of the A3 with regard to volumes for the German automaker.
