Audi A3 sedan and two-door cabriolet unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014

One of Audi’s big ticket unveiling this Auto Expo is the A3 sedan which has been uncovered at the Auto Expo. The A3 is the entry- level sedan in the Audi range worldwide and will now be made available in India soon.  Also sharing this platform was R8 V10 Spyder, RS7 Sportback, Audi R18, e-Tron Quattro and the Q range in special versions.

Terence Johnsson, Vice president, overseas sales of Audi AG said, “In 2013, Audi achieved new sales records in more than 40 markets and India was one of them with sales of 10002 units. We believe this market has tremendous potential for further growth of brand Audi. Reaffirming our commitment to the Indian market, we are bringing the Audi A3 Sedan - the next big Audi to India. We expect the Indian market to continue to grow and to contribute substantially to Audi’s global sales.”

The Audi A3 sedan is based on the next-generation Golf platform (the MQB platform) and is an all-new product for the Indian market. The A3 was joined by its sibling the A3 cabriolet which is a four seater – two Door – sporty, versatile and elegant car with aggressive styling. The A3 Cabriolet gets a completely retractable roof which can be operated on the move. It multiplies the driving experience and showcases a youthful and exciting body style.

The A3 has been dubbed as the ‘next big Audi to India’ by the German car maker. While this is a strong statement, this car does have the potential to be the highest grosser in the four-ringed brand’s line-up in India.
