- Aston Martin Vantage Volante to be unveiled in spring 2020
- The model will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine
The Aston Martin Vantage Volante has been spied testing ahead of its debut that will take place in Spring 2020. Spy images reveal a single test-mule sans any camouflage with a retractable soft-top.
In terms of design, the Aston Martin Vantage Volante retains the styling of its coupe sibling, save for the fabric roof and reworked rear deck. The electrically folding soft-top of the Vantage Volante and the mechanism required to make it work will result in the model gaining a little weight.
Powering the Aston Martin Vantage Volante is expected to be the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 505bhp and 685Nm of torque. This engine will be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. While the coupe can sprint from 0-100kmph in 3.5 seconds but we can expect the roadster variant to take marginally longer, courtesy of the extra weight of the roof mechanism.
