- New 4.0-litre twin turbo petrol V8
- All-new styling and platform
Aston Martin has launched its all-new V8 Vantage in India at a price tag of Rs 2.95 crores. This entry level sportscar will replace the earlier version and will be brought in as a completely built unit. It will be offered in six shades of exterior paint paired with unique interiors that are customisable as per customer preferences.
Built on the new aluminium-based architecture, the Vantage introduces the new Aston Martin styling in the Indian market. The Vantage is hunkered down by almost 10mm as compared to the previous generation for better handing and dynamics and gets the new large and aggressive fascia with the mesh grille in the front. The LED headlamps add character while the flared wheel arches add muscle to the equation. The two-door coupe gets the all-new full-length LED tail lamp strip.
On the inside, the Aston Martin continues the legacy of British luxury with Alcantara leather upholstery and a combination of jet-like toggle switches and buttons. It has got a big 350-litre boot with ample stowage spaces behind the two seats. Under the hood, this V8 Vantage gets the AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 generating over 500bhp of power and 650Nm of torque driving the rear wheels through the rear-mounted eight-speed ZF gearbox. It catapults to 100kmph in 3.5 seconds on its way to a 300+kmph top-speed.
It also has a comprehensive electronic package including traction control and skid control with the electronically controlled limited-slip differential. Airbags, ABS and other driver aids form the basic safety net. It also gets bespoke Sport and Track modes along with the regular Drive mode to suit all driving demands. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage looks to compete against the likes of the Ferrari 488, the Lamborghini Huracan, the Maserati GT and the Porsche 911 Turbo in the sportscar league.
