Aston Martin, the iconic British sportscar maker responsible for creating the DB5 that became James Bond’s rolling arsenal has turned 100 years old. It plans to mark the milestone by launching special editions of all its models, the first of which is the Vanquish.
Going by the name, only 100 models of the Vanquish Centenary Edition will be built. The special edition of the British Automakers flagship model will get a unique paint job, silver Aston Martin badges as well as silver door sil plates showing the number of the car.
The cabin will be kitted out in deep black soft leather upholstery with contrast stitching, first seen on the One million pound One-77 hypercar. The leather on the headrests has been given silver thread embroidery of the company’s logo.
Keeping in continuance with the bespoke theme, the buyer will get a specially made box containing two glass car keys, Aston Martin cufflinks, Bang& Olufsen headphone and a silver pen (with the company’s logo embossed on it obviously).
The engine and underpinnings are expected to remain the same as the regular model. The Vanquish is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine that produces 570bhp and 620Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox.
This special edition is now available on order (through a special application) from all of Aston Martin’s 146 dealers in 46 countries. The company is expected to release details of all the other centenary models shortly.
