British sports car firm Aston Martin is celebrating the 60th anniversary of Aston Martin Works – the historic home of the company with a heritage now stretching back 60 years. To celebrate the milestone, Aston Martin has unveiled a limited edition Vanquish. Only six examples of this new model will be commissioned, the firm says.
The first of the six examples was unveiled at Aston Martin’s customer Christmas celebration. All in all, the six bespoke cars, all versions of the current Vanquish in either Coupe or Volante form, are being created in association with the luxury British brand’s design team.
Each of the six cars is subtly different, and each is tailored to reflect one of the six decades being celebrated. The distinguishing design elements include unique trim and paint colour treatments and bespoke rotaries around the centre console controls. The limited edition gets the same 6-litre V12 engine as the standard model. It develops 568bhp of power and 630Nm of torque and sends power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Dr Matthew Bennett, General Manager of VIP and Q by Aston Martin Sales at Gaydon, said: “The colours of these six unique cars have been very carefully chosen to reflect and celebrate the progress of Aston Martin Works over those six decades. Celebrating the past, but pointing very much toward a bright and exciting future, too, these Vanquish models will, I’m sure, very quickly become a notable feature of the brand’s history at Newport Pagnell.”
