Aston Martin’s most performance-focused Vantage ever, the GT12 will soon make its public debut. The British supercar maker has announced that it will showcase the V12-powered model at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
With production limited to just 100 examples, this new version combines all of Aston Martin’s learning from all of its motorsports experience to produce its most performance-focused road-going Vantage yet.
Under the long hood of the GT12 sits a reworked version of Aston Martin’s familiar 6-litre V12 engine which is capable of developing up to 600bhp of power. Further improving the performance is the fact that this car weighs in at 100kg less than a standard V12 Vantage S.
The GT3 is lower and wider than any of its siblings in the Vantage family. A broader track – front and rear – promises more composed cornering thanks to a reduction in lateral load transfer. Thanks to carbon fibre front wings, carbon fibre bonnet, a lithium ion race-derived battery, carbon-fibre door casings and many more lightweight materials, Aston Martin has been able to keep the weight to just 1,565 kg for this new track-oriented sports car.
