Performance Cars India, the official importer for Aston Martin in India, has announced the launch of the new flaship Vanquish. The Vanquish replaces the DBS at the sporty end of the range, with seating configurations of 2 seats only or 2+2, but the latter is hardly usable for anyone but children.
The Vanquish is powered by a 565bhp, 620Nm 6.0-litre V12. The engine feeds power to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox, helping it get to 100kmph in 4.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 295kmph. It achieves this through weight saving as well: all the body panels on the car are made from carbonfibre. However, there are other improvements over the DBS - the boot is more than sixty per cent larger than the DBS, which means it can really be used as a GT car, and torsional rigidity is up by 25 per cent, which bodes well for ride and handling.
The Vanquish can be had for Rs 3.85 crore, ex-showroom, with a number of customisation options, and deliveries are expected to begin by the end of the year.
