- The news was ‘officially leaked’ on the carmaker’s official website.
- The AMR-spec DB11 will have a limited production run.
- Third AMR-tuned Aston Martin since the reveal of the performance brand last year.
Aston Martin has discreetly posted a microsite for the DB11 AMR on their official website. This is either an error on the Gaydon-based carmaker’s end or a new way of teasing an upcoming project. Either way, it is official that the next AMR product will be the flagship grand tourer.
At this moment, there is no information available on the DB11 AMR. The AMR is to Aston Martin as the AMG is to Mercedes-Benz or the M is to BMW. It worked as a motorsport division since 2004 and was established as a separate performance division for the British marque last year. During the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin confirmed that they will introduce an AMR version of every model in their range. Currently, the AMR produces previous-gen Vantage Pro and Rapide.
Similar to these two cars, the upcoming DB11 AMR will also have a limited production run. We hope to see both the versions of the DB11 – the V8 and V12 – get the AMR treatment. There will be a considerable increase in power output. Meanwhile, the GT will be finished in the metallic green colour scheme since that colour is associated with the AMR. Besides this, we have no other information regarding the DB11 AMR.
However, we believe that Aston Martin will reveal the DB11 AMR pretty soon, given that the announcement microsite is still active. The hardcore DB11 will be another collectible for the connoisseurs and will be sold out even before it breaks cover, perhaps sometime later this year.
