- All-new DBS model, gets new-gen Aston styling
- It is powered by 5.2-litre V12
- Gets a 2-door four-seat layout
Aston Martin’s ‘Second Century’ plan is unravelling itself and if it is going to give us more along the likes of the DBS Superleggera, the Italians will certainly have a run for their money. Well, the successor of the Vanquish, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, has made its global debut and will be the British marque’s new super GT.
First things first. The new Aston continues to employ the legendary 5.2-litre V12 which, thanks to its turbocharging, develops a whopping 715bhp of power and a massive 900Nm of torque. The eight-speed gearbox is placed in the back for better weight distribution while the mechanical limited-slip differential and torque vectoring ensure that you get all the drive you need even around corners.
No wonder it sprints to 100kmph in 3.4 seconds, 160kmph in 6.4 seconds and has a top-whack of 340kmph. Well this top speed would not be possible without the exemplary design which embodies the DBS. The mammoth front grille looks ridiculously attractive, giving the Aston one of the most beautiful fascias of the day. The F1-style twin splitter in the rear, the front lip and the stylish fender slit add to the glory.
Inside, you will find one of the most luxurious sport-interiors - racing-style bucket seats wrapped in custom-stitched leather. Carbon fibre has been used generously to keep the weight down apart from the body-shell which is also made of carbon-fibre. The car also features a long list of standard equipment including keyless entry, a 360-degree view camera, parking aids, navigation and Wi-Fi.
Well, you can lay your hands on this exquisite piece of modern motoring for just $304,995 (approximately Rs 2.1 crores excluding all the customs and taxes you are bound to pay here in India). And you will have to wait until the end of this year to get one shipped out of the UK.
