Aston Martin has confirmed that the soft top version of the DB11 is currently development. The final car, meanwhile, is a year and a half away.
In true Aston fashion, the convertible model will be called as the DB11 Volante. It is expected to make its official debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. From the pictures of the DB11 Volante test mule, one can see the extra bodywork covering the rear wings. However thats only for testing purposes and the real deal will be bestowed with the DB11 coupe’s flowing curves.
The Volante will weigh slightly more than the DB11 coupe which tips the scales at 1,770kg. Thanks to 600bhp and 700Nm of torque from its 5.2-litre V12, plus a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the DB11 can hit 100 kmph in 3.9seconds. The DB11 Volante, meanwhile, should be one- or two-tenths slower.
Besides it, Aston Martin is also developing a hot DB11 S. Click here to read about this new high-performance model that’s currently undergoing testing.
