Aston Martin, Bentley and Maserati could mark their presence at the 13th Auto Expo to be held in New Delhi. The three luxury brands have never participated in the biennial event and this will be their first official visit here since the Expo began around 15 years ago.
Reports suggest that representatives of these brands have contacted the organisers for participation. Aston Martin and Bentley have appointed dealers in India while Maserati withdrew from the market a few years ago and now in the face of changed consumer demands is looking to re-enter our market.
The luxury car market in India is growing and currently the volumes in this segment are more than 30,000 units. The luxury space is dominated by the three German marques – Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz in terms of volume. It is difficult to get into volume wars with these companies, but the super car segment and the ultra luxury sedan is anybody’s game. The best way to mark your presence in India is by participating in the Auto Expo.
While Aston Martin might present its entire range of sports cars, Bentley is likely to showcase its new product the Bentayga SUV. Maserati on the other hand is expected to bring its Ghibli sedan (BMW 5 Series, Merc E-Class competitor) for the event. Who knows we might be in for a surprise like Ferrari participating in the biennial Auto Show with the 488 GTB.
