Ashok Leyland will roll-out the new Stile on July 16. The seven-seater MUV is the first passenger vehicle from the company and is based on the Nissan Evalia (NV200) platform. The Stile is the second vehicle under Nissan-Ashok Leyland partnership; first was the Dost LCV.
Ashok Leyland displayed the Stile at the 2012 Auto Expo – the MUV looks like rebadged Evalia with some changes to the headlamp cluster, front bumper and grille. The interiors are further stripped-down for economy and beige interior tone is changed to black-grey with similar colour upholstery.
The Stile will be powered by the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine from Renault-Nissan alliance developing 85bhp. We doubt Ashok Leyland will offer a petrol variant at the time of the launch – in case it does, the version will be coupled with CNG kit.
The Ashok Leyland Stile will be priced lower than the Evalia targeting mainly fleet owners. The MUV will also find application in the commercial market as an Ambulance or Courier pick-up van.
