Apollo Automobil has dropped more teaser images of the upcoming hypercar, codenamed the IE. Now the niche carmaker has confirmed that the new IE is developed in collaboration with Turin-based Manifattura Automobili Torino. The IE hypercar will have a limited production of just 10 units with a high level of customisation for exclusivity.
Developed ground-up, the IE will have a bespoke naturally aspirated V12 sitting snugly in a full carbon fibre chassis. As we know, from the earlier teaser, the hypercar will be rocking a large carbon fibre wing at the rear, flared rear fenders and a triad of centrally mounted funky exhaust tips. The latest set of teaser images show a new carbon fibre diffuser, a front splitter and some vague clay mouldings.
It’s early days yet and very few details of the hypercar are available at the moment. However, the IE, confirmed to be a new generation of hypercar breed, is speculated to be a road going version of the Apollo Arrow Concept. The hypercar will tip the scale at around 1360kg and with the massive power plant, expect the IE to be a ferocious performer. Apollo states that the IE is more powerful than the original concept car which had a 1000horsepower from its crazy V8.
The IE is an acronym, while the official name will be announced in the weeks to come, affirmed the resurrected carmaker. Apollo will present the production spec IE to a selected group of ‘enthusiasts’ in a private and highly exclusive event held at an undisclosed location in Europe later this month. The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2018.
