Although the all-new BMW X3 has just gone on sale, Alpina has already begun testing their performance treatment that will lead to a new XD3.
The secret to the success of the outgoing bi-turbo model was the mix of driving performance, traction and efficiency. These traits were paired to the high driving position and good daily usability. As earlier, Alpina design features aerodynamic refinements that are integrated into the overall exterior of the new model as well.
We expect the new XD3 to hit the showrooms in 2018. The sporty crossover would be powered by another interpretation of the in-line 6 bi-turbo diesel, probably pumping a little over 350bhp. The XD3, then, is similar to Audi’s fast crossover, the SQ5, both being practical family runabouts with sports car-like performance.
