Bentley’s flagship four door luxury sedan, the Flying Spur, was recently spotted testing. The Flying Spur is basically a sedan version of the Bentley Continental GT and the spied vehicle is expected to become the third generation of this luxo-barge.
The spied Flying Spur is expected to be styled according to the Bentley’s design language. Bentley’s new family design, the EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept, was revealed at 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Bentley has tried their best to disguise the vehicle with body cladding, but the images already reveal a more elegant design for the upcoming Flying Spur. The side profile of the vehicle reveals sporty blacked out alloys which are scooped into the wheel arches. The images show the rear end to be heavily camouflaged with stickers on tail lamps, although wide exhaust tips are evident.
The images hint at the new vehicle having its wheel base stretched and carrying longer overhangs, thus resulting in a roomier, and of course, a luxurious cabin.
The new luxury sedan will be driven on Volkswagen Group’s new MSB-F rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive platform. The new luxury sedan is expected to be powered by the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 option and 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 from the previous generation could be carry over.
Bentley is planning to reveal the new Flying spur in late 2018 after the debut of the 2018 Continental GT. When launched, the Bentley Flying Spur will compete with the 2019 Rolls Royce Phantom which is also expected to make a debut later next year.
