> It is rumoured that the all-new RS7 could also get a hybrid powertrain, possibly from the Porsche Panamera powertrain series (E-Hybrid)
> Expected to be revealed in the first half of 2019 at some auto show before getting launched in the latter half of 2019
Our spy photographers just shared these ‘up-close’ spy images of Audi’s upcoming all-new Audi RS7 testing on public roads.
The massive camouflaging on the prototype not only indicates that testing is still in full swing, picking up updated design cues is a lot more challenging. In fact, the superior masking prevented us from getting any clues to the rear design. However, we did notice the flared fenders that are expected to house the up to 21-inch alloy wheels, standard LED head lamps and an edgier design for improved aerodynamics.
But it doesn’t end there. We also spotted the larger air dams and a mean-looking black honeycomb-mesh grille. These seem to be hiding one of the biggest updates that are rumoured for the next RS7 - an all-new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 motor that’s also expected to power the Bentley Continental GT.
We are looking at a revised horse-power output of up to 650bhp (current RS7 is 560-605bhp). The enhanced abilities of which will allow the new RS7 scramble to 100kmph slightly quicker than the current car’s 3.6 seconds. Stay tuned to CarWale for details.
