Jaguar has said that all its upcoming models will be offered with the option of all-wheel drive (AWD) and this was confirmed by its global brand director Adrian Hallmark. The British Automaker had taken the decision to create the AWD models while developing its 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine due to strong demand from the US and Canadian markets.
It is already offering the AWD option in the 2013 model year XJ and XF that are being sold in the US and Canada. The company has said that in the present range, no vehicle will get this option as it is too expensive to re-engineer the system for other engines that it makes. Jaguar added that it will include All-wheel Drive option right from the outset of developing future models.
Since Jaguar brings its cars to the country as CBUs, we can expect that whenever the models are introduced to the global market, we will be given the option to purchase them, although the hefty premium that they will no doubt command will make most Indian buyers stay away from them.
