On sale since 2010, the current-gen Hyundai Accent (called Verna in India) has done rather well in many markets including South Korea, North America, China and of course, India. Now though Hyundai is preparing to launch an all-new generation of this car which is scheduled for a 2017 launch.
These are the first spy shots of the fifth-generation Accent. Unlike the current model, the new Accent might find its way back to Europe (where the model was sold until 2008). We say this because the prototype you see here was spotted undergoing testing in Spain.
Now Hyundai, as we know, has already revealed the 2017 Verna for China. The vehicle was unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show earlier this year. Design wise, it continues to feature the coupe-like sloping roofline and a strong shoulder-line that extends to the boot. The 2017 Verna measures 4,380mm in length, 1,728mm in width and 1,460mm in height up from 4375mm, 1,700mm and 1,475mm respectively.
Hyundai India will launch the new Verna next year to improve their presence in the C-segment. The vehicle will be launched with prices ranging between Rs 7.5 and Rs 13 lakh depending on the trim level.
