- To get a three-screen setup for the dashboard
- Will carry a similar silhouette as the ICE XUV700
Mahindra is actively testing its range of electric products, including the XUV.e8, which is essentially an electric iteration of the currently on-sale Mahindra XUV700. Unlike the XUV.e9 coupe, which will have major structural changes, the XUV.e8 will retain most of the design and profile from the ICE version.
Up front, the fascia of the upcoming XUV.e8 will be dominated by a massive light setup including T-shaped LED DRLs with a connecting light bar and vertically stacked LED headlamps. Other visual elements include an upright bonnet, redesigned alloy wheels, blanked-off grille, front parking sensors, and a radar for the ADAS tech.
At the rear, the design of the taillamps is more or less identical to those of the ICE XUV700. Then, there’s an extended roof spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp, rear parking sensors, and a rear fender-mounted charring port, which is present at the same location as the fuel lid of the current XUV700.
However, the major changes are done to the cabin of the SUV, where the electric version of the XUV700 will have a three-screen setup taking up the entire dashboard. While the third screen is new, the other two screens appear to be larger than the ones seen in the engine-powered XUV700.
As for the features, the XUV.e8 is expected to come loaded with dual-zone climate control, 360-degree surround camera, premium music system, panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charger, revised centre console with storage, and an auto-dimming IRVM.
