Audi has announced that Indian racer Aditya Patel is going to race in the Audi R8 LMS Cup for the 2015 season. The 27-year old Chennaite will be participating in the Asia-based sprint race series in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 race car, which is currently in the fifth year its operation.
The Audi R8 LMS Cup takes place at international racing circuits in China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Taiwan and includes 12 races conducted over six race weekends. The 2015 season will take place on March 21 and 22 at the Zhuhai International Circuit in Guangdong province, China.
Aditya Patel is a seasoned racer and has participated in several international championships thanks to support from Audi India, JK Tyres, Amante and Jubilant Motorworks. His racing endeavours outside of India include the Formula BMW Pacific Championship, Volkswagen Polo cup, Scirocco R Cup and the ADAC GT Masters series among others. The biggest highlights of Aditya’s career include a victory in the SP4T category of the 24 hours of Nurburgring in 2012 and five podiums in the 2014 International GT Open Series.
