The Abarth Punto Evo is the first true blue performance hatchback in the mass market. Priced at Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-Delhi), the hatchback delivering 145bhp and 212Nm of torque hardly has any competition in the Indian market. We take a closer look at the Abarth Punto through the photo gallery from the launch event.
The Abarth Punto is based on the standard Fiat car but changes that show its sporty image. The Fiat logo on the bonnet has been replaced by the scorpion, along with sporty graphics to create a dual tone effect.
The other noticeable difference is the alloy wheels. The 16-inch Abarth scorpion pincher wheels in black and silver colour replace the stock ones and look stunning.
Inside of the car gets the all-black treatment. Here again, the Fiat badging is replaced by Abarth and the upholstery stitches are red and yellow (Abarth colours).
The same features from the Fiat Punto are carried over to the Abarth. The music system is decent and has all the basic functions though it could have been a little better considering the price.
There is plenty of Abarth badging both on the exterior and interior including on the door panels, roof, rear hatch and the door sills of the car to distinguish it from the standard Fiat Punto Evo.
To provide additional braking power, this car is fitted with disc brakes on all four wheels. The other safety features include ABS-EBD and dual front airbags.
This version of the Abarth Punto is made in India with the 1.4-litre T-Jet engine. The hatchback is available through all the Fiat dealerships in India in two colours – Pearl White and Hip Hop Black.
