Back in August last year, Jaguar design chief Ian Callum redesigned the iconic Mark 2 for his own personal use. The beautifully crafted model drew a lot of attention of classic car enthusiasts from across the world, thanks to a number of aesthetic and technical modifications carried onto it.
While the Mark 2 already is pretty special even in standard form, this particular example has been tastefully redesigned by the famed designer for his own personal use. Featuring a modified and uprated 4.3-litre XK engine, 5-speed manual gearbox, independent rear suspension and upgraded front brakes, the Mark 2 by Callum is as good to drive as its looks suggests.
CMC (Classic Motor Cars of Bridgnorth) - leading restorers and makers of Callum’s custom designed Mark 2 have now revealed that the build of a similar Mark 2 is already underway. This will be the second of a limited run of 12 cars and is expected to be shown in the US next year.
The second Mark 2 by Callum is now in production and it is going to be a left-hand-drive car. With the body shell nearing completion, the vehicle is expected to be shipped by the end of this year.
According to Nick Goldthorp, Managing Director of CMC, each vehicle will be tailored to an individual buyer, who will spend time with Ian Callum to finalise the specification.
