Back at the 2016 Auto Expo event in the country, auto fans were awestruck with a customised Thar on display. This time around, the automaker is indeed offering an opportunity to own one in the form of the Thar Daybreak edition. Mahindra’s customisation department is accepting orders for the Daybreak edition thereby allowing buyers to customise the Thar CRDe variant as per their requirements.
The process to opt for a Daybreak edition is pretty simple, one needs hand over a new Thar CRDe or a used one to Mahindra’s customisation department. The customisation job costs about Rs 9.6 lakh and those interested for a hard top will have to spend an additional Rs 1.5 lakh. The company’s customisation department takes about two months to personalise the vehicle as per your needs. As the customisation work will be carried on stock Thar CRDe, the off-roader will be powered by a 2.5-litre engine which generates 105bhp and 247Nm of torque.
The Mahindra customisation department does not tweak the engine to avoid problems with the registration and insurance process. As for upgrades, the vehicle will sport massive 37- Maxxis Trepador tyres inch tyres, high lift kit and a heavy-duty winch. The front gets off-road bumpers, projector headlamps, wider bonnet and auxiliary lights. As for the interiors, it gets Sparco bucket seats, waterproof speakers, and dual tone finish which matches the exterior. Interested customers can reach out to the Mahindra Customisation department for additional details.
