- Lamborghini Urus ST-X will make racing debut at Super Trofeo 2020 world finals
- Lighter by 550kgs as compared to the road-spec model
- Likely to be powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine
Last year performance car manufacturer Lamborghini showcased the Urus ST-X concept. This time around, the Italian car manufacturer has revealed the race-spec Urus ST-X which will make its racing debut at the Super Trofeo 2020 world finals in Misano Adriatico in Italy. Reports indicate that the first SUV in the racing circuit gets an FIA-approved steel roll cage, fire suppression system and an FT3 fuel tank. Moreover, it is believed that the Urus ST-X is lighter by 550kgs than the regular road-spec model, thereby bringing down the total kerb weight down to 1,650kgs.
Mechanically, the Urus ST-X is powered by the existing 4.0-litre V8 engine from the existing model that generates 650bhp of power and massive 850Nm of peak torque. There are reports that the company might retune the V8 performance figures to deliver a higher power output. As seen in images, the race-spec model gets green (Verde Mantis) from the Lamborghini Squadra Corse along with the motorsport livery. The SUV also features sporty red detailing on the bumper and rides on large 21-inch aluminium wheels.
