Mini has launched the Countryman Black Edition in India, with prices starting at Rs 42.40 lakhs (ex-showroom, all India). Only 24 units of the model have been allocated for the Indian market. As the name suggests, the Countryman Black Edition features blacked out elements on the exterior as well as the interior.
Exterior highlights of the Mini Countryman Black Edition include a blacked-out grille, JCW carbon fibre mirror caps, Piano Black headlight and tail light trim, Piano Black Countryman lettering and roof rails and bonnet stripes in black. A few other features offered on the model are 18-inch JCW alloy wheels with RFTs, JCW aerodynamic kit and a panoramic sunroof.
Inside, the Countryman Black Edition comes equipped with an automatic tail-gate, JCW sports steering wheel, HUD, illuminated Piano Black interior style package, picnic bench, electric seat adjustment with memory function, Harman Kardon music system, front sport seats and an 8.8-inch infotainment system.
Powering the Mini Countryman Black Edition is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that is tuned to produce 192bhp and 280Nm of torque. Paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the model can attain speeds of 100kmph from a standstill in 7.5 seconds.
