Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1.53 lakh units in October 2019. This includes 1.41 lakh units in the domestic market, 2,727 units of domestic OEM sales and 9,158 units for the export market. The company reported a growth of 4.5 per-cent in October 2019 compared to the same period last year. The utility vehicles segment witnessed the highest growth of 11.3 per-cent compared to the period in the previous year. The models in this segment include the Vitara Brezza, XL6, Ertiga and the S-Cross.
The growth in the sales numbers can be attributed to the festive season including the auspicious days such as Dhanteras and Diwali. Maruti Suzuki had also offered discounts across the model range, which might have further helped boost the sales numbers.
In the past month, Maruti launched the crash compliant Eeco and the Ertiga Tour1.5L diesel. The month of October also saw the Ciazcross the 2.7 lakh sales milestone in a period of five years while the S-Presso achieved a booking milestone of 10,000 units. The latter was achieved in less than two weeks of the model being launched in the country.
